Go Web, young man, go Web!

"Go West, young man, go West!" has now become "Go Web, young man, go Web!"

Indeed, the Web's ubiquity and reach greatly amplify one's employment prospects and career opportunities.

But what does "Go Web" mean, exactly?

Well, "Go West" was said to encourage young people to go where the frontier was, to see the future as it was happening.

"Go Web" is not different, in that the new economy will increasingly happen on the Web.

Strategically speaking, it means every careerist will have to develop a Web strategy in order to CREATE as well as CAPTURE opportunities.

Note: The original quote is actually "Go West, young man, and grow up with the country" and first appeared as the title to the 1851, Terre Haute Express editorial written by Mr. John Soule).
